INTRO-DUCTION These few initial pages are specially ‘Designed’ for those who got some curiosity to lift a few pages of this manual after seeing its title.  It is ‘TAILOR Made’ to help them specifically as to whether it is worthwhile to spend time and take keen interest and sincere efforts in the Manual.  Their truthful answers will also place them in the appropriate ‘Level’ and the immediate higher level could implant the necessary insight and motivation in them to progress further.
This module also gives you an idea of the amount of ‘Happiness*’,or psychological well being ness, that you can     achieve just by thoroughly understanding and assimilating the well known Logical reasoning and proven Scientific Principles referred in the manual.  And then, further advancement to the final ‘Realised State’ is possible through the pursuit of Self knowledge by systematic learning spiritual teachings to fulfill the purpose of life.
HOW TO USE THIS ‘PSYCHO-SCANNER’ For this, sincerely scan yourself in depth, with respect to each ‘Criteria’ given below
Compare your state against the three levels given in 3 adjacent columns towards right side  of this criterion
Arrive at the nearest level as compared to your present state
Just put your ‘Level Number’ at the fourth blank column. Proceed through the sixty areas of your inner personality and at the end just total all these ‘Level Numbers’. This is the number of points, you have scored.
From your score, arrive at the present condition of your inner personality w r t this assessment by referring to the guidelines given at the end of this questionnaire.
While deciding agreement to a particular criterion, you judge your own most predominant level among the three levels and put the tick mark against that level only.  Do not break your head, but be truthful to yourself and that is very important.
Please note that in some of the criterion, agreement to ‘Level 3’ automatically includes agreement to all the levels; whereas, Agreement to ‘Level 2’ includes agreement to ‘Level 1’ but not to ‘Level 3’ ; and  Agreement to ‘Level 1’ excludes other two levels.  Example Criteria No. 59.  Please select your agreement taking account of this aspect with respect to some of the criterion, indicated with * mark.
While all healthy suggestions are most welcome, to make this ‘Psycho Scanner’ more effective and meaningful, the interested persons are requested not to get stuck up with conflicts in selecting their answers or develop unhealthy confusion while going through this list of criterion.  It is prepared in their own interest and it is up to them to take advantage of it (to decide whether to spend time & effort in reading the entire manual or not) and make the best use of it

CAUTION:  While it is totally up to the individual to rate himself or herself, it is informed that irrelevant, insincere or incorrect rating will only deprive the person from improving himself or advancing to greater heights in this most precious field.  The same is applicable to those who rate themselves higher than their present correct level.NOTE:  Though, the entire model is categorised into eight psychological ‘ spheres they pervade / transcend or overlap each other.  To systemise the methodology and for the sake of convenience of the user, it is done so it is very important that the total inner personality of the person has to be taken from an integrated perspective.

TOTAL POINTS

PS:
1.       More than 50 criterion are given whereas, the evaluating method appears to be based on 50 of them because some of the criterion could be irrelevant for a particular section of people.
2.       The assessor  ‘Spiritually’ (means, fully)  conforms to the assessment as per the above evaluation only when his or her final score is in the range of the particular level, and the individual category score is also more than half of the category’s maximum possible score !, that is indicated for all the categories.  Else, he or she can well satisfy with ‘Mathematical’ conformation (with the total score)!! and of course, definitely proceed as per the guidance.
3.      It is important to understand that the evaluating concept of this questionnaire tries to bring out your true nature in the ‘transactional plane’ and tries to guide to enter into the ‘Spiritual Plane’.  It arrives at the idea in the widest perspective.  Or, it makes yourself aware of your    own ‘Psychological Personality’ from the view point of the subtle Spiritual Science, provided, you are 100% true to yourself in answering to all the questions.
4.       Therefore, it is suggested to give more importance and weight age to the criterion and levels and try to extract guidance from them.  Do not arrive at any final conclusion about yourself (for any other purpose) based on this evaluating system and total points arrived by the calculation.  This is particularly applicable only in ascertaining your position among the levels mentioned in this questionnaire.
5.       Taking the outcome of the ‘Psycho Scan’ model positively, it is suggested to take up the process of Refining oneself with a high priority.  It has to be considered as a continuous, Value Addition Oriented Integrated Programme and thus an important Project of your Life.
6.       However, the main intention of the ‘Psycho scan’ model is    designed to encourage the interested and prospective persons in Spiritual Science, filtering the rest, obviously whose who are below the level 3.  Hope, it has served its purpose in your case.  What ever may be your position, please do not get disappointed by it as your sincerity and honesty in responding to this questionnaire is highly appreciated.

SUCCESS RE-DEFINED

Though the term ‘Success’ is a highly relative word, in the wider perspective, a successful person is connected to financial prosperity or the position he or she occupies.  It shall be in the areas of academic excellence or career growth or ones outstanding performance. From the subjective view point, people take it as the gap between ones ambitions and his achievements, lesser the gap, greater is his success.  And the dictionary meaning of the word ‘Success’ is ‘favorable outcome’; and ‘attainment of object or wealth or fame’. In any case, it is   more appropriate if the  term ‘success’ is judged from the person concerned rather than from others view point. Thus, a re definition is not a bad idea to begin this discussion. Well, if the modified definition conforms to the ‘subjectivity’ of the term success and at the same time, not contradicting its ‘objectivity’, it could be a more appropriate definition. It could also be useful for adapting to those who have a sharp logical reasoning and committed to their own concept of success

Now, let us look into the aspects of defining or describing ‘success’. Some words such as ‘relatively more happy’, ‘highly satisfied’, ‘highly resourceful’, ‘high authority or power or control or owning and managing establishments or industries etc.’ are some other general words of describing ‘success’. From ones own stand point; it is also the condition that he has nothing more to accomplish in his life. Let us try to define the term ‘success’ in a way that it will be practical and also agreeable     mainly from ones own stand point and also acknowledged by most of others. Firstly, a successful person should have 1. Self satisfaction with respect to all his accomplishments in life and 2. No repent over his past or anxiety about his  future. And from the point of others, he should be having a respectable a) personal life, b) financial condition, c) intellectual maturity and d) social    acceptance. Take for example, the author of the very famous book on the topic of ‘Success’, committed suicide because he could not lead a happy married life. Will anyone consider him to be successful even if he says himself to be so?

However, if we take for example a decently settled middle aged person of the present age, he or she will more or less qualify all the four conditions as given above in a, b, c & d.  but, the person who had accomplished everything he wanted in life,  will definitely be anxious to protect them, and it is sensible too. And the person who has settled for anything less than what he had aimed before,  sometime or other,  will be pinched in the soft portion of his ego. Whereas, the person who is not bothered about anything concerned with his future, invariably, would not have achieved anything in his past, and because of the frustration only,   he is not bothered about his future. Obviously, none of these persons will come within the   bracket of successful’ people.

Then, how to be really ‘Successful’ in life? To enquire about this, let us retain its perspective as well as pre-requisites. We will look into the various possibilities of achieving such an exalted status. Through the materialistic approach one can definitely progress even legitimately rise to great heights through extraordinary hard work and learning from experience, , sustaining ‘positive thinking’ all through, making use of all possible resources and of course backed by luck. If one can succeed in making use of all these avenues in life , he or she will  be called  ‘a successful person’ from others perspective. But, if the person is questioned about his secret of success in an interview, can you guess as to what could be the answer. The so called ‘successful person will proudly say that the secret behind his success is that he was never satisfied with his performance or progress or achievements. The listener will also admire him. Do you think a person, who was not satisfied all through the life, during his performances and after his achievements, is satisfied at his present or will remain satisfied in the future?  Thus, a ‘successful person’ acknowledged by everyone miserably fails to himself with respect to ‘self satisfaction or in other words, fails even to qualify himself to be recognized as a ‘successful person’.

On the other hand,   a contented person will usually be simple, composed and conservative. Therefore, he will be commented as either not optimistic or incapable, lacking self confidence or   negative thinking person. Thus, judging a persons success depends both on his materialistic prosperity as well as his psychological outlook or expressive conditions during interaction with others. Simplifying, the successful person should be totally contented and at the same time always cheerful. The possibility of reaching such a state is almost impossible solely through the materialistic approach, mainly because the criteria for attributing ‘success’  is mostly the ‘mental   state’ of the person in question. And, as per the ‘law of diminishing factor’ concerning the influence of materials on ones satisfaction quotient  says that the level of satisfaction of any human will never remain at 100 %  , if the person depends materials for his satisfaction. Further, it proves that if certain quantity of any material gives some satisfaction at present, much more quantity of the same material is required to give same level of satisfaction continuously or later. When this is also the proven fact, where is the question of attaining 100% satisfaction and remaining permanently at that level? Therefore, conforming to all the requisites for ‘Success’ is completely ruled out through materialistic pursuits and materialistic prosperity.

Also, ‘success’ is not giving up the impossible ambitions and satisfying oneself with whatever achieved, it is the inner growth, happening through growing out of ambitions. It comes   through high maturity, escaping the ‘trap’ of ‘greed’ by carefully identifying the border line between ambitions and greed.  Ones tendency to fulfill his or her ambitions by crossing the norms or compromising with values, committed to ones own definition of ‘success’ is greed.     Then, greed over powers and over takes ambitions and this is what ‘crossing the danger line’ in life. On the   other hand, if success is concerned with the fulfillment of ambitions, no one can be called ‘successful.  And if one compromises on the ambitions due to limitations, he or she manage to convince themselves and settle for something less than their original ambitions and thus, cannot take them successful true to themselves. The inner impressions, thus accumulates form the ‘core person’ of the individual and it is for this reason, one cannot accept others rating him as a highly successful person.    With the persistent desire to be successful in life on one side and the logical impossibility of total success on the other side, the life of a well placed  or well settled young men & women ends up without meeting its purpose.

Here comes, our spiritual science to our rescue. It says, ‘The desire  to accomplish and retain something is known as ‘likes’ and the desire to avoid or get rid of something is known as ‘dislike’ and that every individual has both likes and dislikes. It also says, if one wants to succeed in life by fulfilling all the two types of desires, i.e., the likes and dislikes, one will definitely fail. Instead of this approach, if he learns to manage his ‘likes & dislikes’, he can be successful.  Because, any accomplishment requires right action at the right time and favorable circumstances and also the luck factor whereas, ‘managing anything’ is completely under ones own control as it is based on attitudinal adjustments.  By managing ones desires (or likes & dislikes) intelligently, the negative influence of both comparison and competition (in the ‘success race’) are avoided, keeping their positive advantages. This is possible because the main tools for managing ones ‘likes & dislikes’ are intelligent discrimination and matured decision.

Once we understand that the benchmark of ‘success’ rests at ones psychological realm, there is yet another aspect to be tackled similar to ‘managing ones likes & dislikes’. It is ones response to the results of his action. Because, you cannot accept a ‘successful person’ apparently looking dull, dejected, frustrated or agitated. Scriptures   beautifully advocates the ‘karma yoga’ approach of facing the outcome of ones actions and efforts. One has got the freedom of choice only in his actions and the attitude behind his action and he has no choice, what so ever on the results.   Therefore, maintaining equanimity is possible and meaningful only in facing the results. The equanimity of mind will not only help to keep up ones composure but it will facilitate to maintain the efficacy level at its optimum for timely application of all the four facets or functions of   his inner faculty  namely, Emotion center, Discriminative center, Memory center& Doership center  for facing the results as well as for progressing further.

Therefore, the fundamental principle is ‘The person who has learned to manage his wants as well as his responses is a successful person and the person, whose life is managed by wants and external influence is an ‘unsuccessful person’. By assimilating these two principles and effortlessly practicing them, a person attains success in the transactional world.

at this point of  life,  Such a successful person,   if  he has  some basic spiritual knowledge,  he will automatically observe the trend   of the transactional world (life styles of people of his status, age group, employment etc ). He will also understand the growing nature of the ‘so called wants’, and   tempted by labeling or projecting them as ‘convenience’ by technologically advanced ‘Supply Chain’. Because, his   sincere approach in spiritual studies would have made the person intellectually matured. Cautioned by them, he will promptly divert his progress towards his inner prosperity sustaining his family and social states co. Since he is able to maintain his level,   retaining his reasonable good health and sufficient material prosperity, he will be enjoying good harmony within his family and relatives and enough respect also in the similar circles of friends and society.

Rightly motivated by his choice, he would also decide to settle    at a level in the career and will focus his interest, attention and efforts towards his spiritual growth. He will be wise enough to choose this concept of ‘success’ in life instead of increasing his income by ‘climbing the ‘hanging ladder’ of corporate hierarchy and compete in the materialistic world. From managing his wants, he will grow further and gradually start transcend his wants and become highly satisfied with meeting his needs, by the time he can free himself from his working environment or  services, his constant touch with spiritual teachings will inculcate a desire to improve the amount and quality of  his happiness.  As he must have been    continuously assimilating spiritual knowledge, that has successfully taken him all through his ‘highly active working tenure’, he would have matured enough and ready for the greatest pursuit of Self-knowledge. This is the systematic ripening procedure for well educated and well settled persons of the present period. This is the only path to fulfill the purpose of human birth, we are endowed with and is there any greater success in ones life?

Thus, ‘SUCCESS’ is re-defined as ‘Securing the Ultimate, Continuous Contentment Enriched with Self Satisfaction’.

Thus, ‘SUCCESS’ is re-defined as achieving ‘Security, Ultimate Contentment, Confidence Endowed with Self Satisfaction’
